Staying warm through winter.

I’m about to spent my first winter in Holland since a long time, not sure what the expect I’m getting my winter gear ready. As we all know Autumn (Fall) is the best time in Holland for windsurfing, lots of low pressures moving through giving the best winds and also the best waves. But staying warm is key to enjoying those conditions, for as far as I can remember. So just in time for the cold season Gun Sails launched there new line of Neoprene’s meaning suits, jackets and boots.

The Suits, great, we need those.

The Jackets also great, staying warm while rigging, re-rigging or de rigging is important. As from what I remember as soon as we get cold, it’s hard to warm back up, specially with Rain and no Sun.

So when receiving the wet-suits and during my first session I realized that these are some good suits!! It was 12 to 14 degree’s at one of the our test days, a lot of rain and no sun, so I thought the steamer would be a good call. Turned out this things was much to warm for this. This steamer is the real deal for winter, so that got me excited for some colder conditions. After this day I order a short-sleeve right away as it’s nice to be warm, but I don’t like burning up.

So this leaves me with the following thought for the Gun Sails wet-suits.

The Vision Semi-Dry 5/4mm is for sub 10 degree’s

The Vision Steamer 3.5mm is for 10 to 20 degree’s

So for me it was a nice surprise, looks I have found the suit that is going to keep me warm. When they arrived the packaging was nice, the feel of neoprene was great and fit was good too. So for the price that they offer the suit for it really doesn’t get any better.
